A small elegant den furnished with a pot pourri of Chesterfields, vintage lamps and designer armchairs all overseen by a giant stencil art wall mural, Canvas has quickly made its mark in the Gabba antique quarter.

Behind the casually thrown together look is a meticulous approach to detail, from the died-and-gone-to-heaven tapas menu (try the Jamon Serrano wrapped figs, lime cured king salmon, or smoked tomato and oloroso dip) to the drinks which incorporate a carefully selected range of boutique largely Spanish & NZ wines, international craft brews and customised cocktails.

Absinthe aficionados can join the Green Hour on Thursdays at 3pm for sampling with the accompanying fountain ritual while tequila fans can enjoy great value margaritas and French/Spanish tapas on Tuesdays.

Meantime those in search of a cool Sunday afternoon session will find it here with live intimate jazz accompanied by wine and cheese.
