The only clue that this mellow basement lounge and bottle shop exists is a discreet doorway in the wilderness end of Adelaide St.

Yet before or after a night out it’s a worthy place to chill out on comfy couches and even peruse the hardcover copies of classics like Ivanhoe to be found on the bookshelves – not unlike popping into a friend’s place.

Combine with a glass of wine from the boutique selection served by a friendly sommelier and possibly a cheese platter or tapas plate from the Italian joint upstairs and herein is the ideal bookend to a night on the town.
