There’s something apothecary like about this treasure of a tea store, peddling some 90 different teas and tea-making paraphernalia from an owner who's a walking tea encyclopaedia. Indeed if there’s something he doesn’t know about these teas it’s probably not worth knowing, to the point where he has a ready bunch of recipes involving different blends of them. Backed with the therapeutic knowledge behind the different tea types, he’s also a whizz at recommending everything from the hangover cure to the relaxant.
Black, white, green, oolong, fruit, herbal, floral, rooibos, and pu-erh ( a post-fermented Chinese tea) are all part of the leaf family that live here so if you don’t know your oolong from your rooibos this is the place to get with it.
And for those bored with their standard blend spice up your tea life with a citrus chai or Daydream Tea – a blend of Indian black leaf and dark chocolate. Or forget about drinking it and ask the owner how to turn tea into choc mint ice-cream.
