Freddie’s Tap House & Kitchen
Fortitude Valley
FREDDIE's TAPHOUSE & KITCHEN HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Freddie’s Tap House & Kitchen provides a home away from home on Fortitude Valley’s thriving James Street – although, this abode is well stocked with craft beer, creative cocktails and a bona fide menu to suit.
The restaurant has a cosy and relaxed atmosphere, with window bar seating, corner booths and dining tables. The restaurant is flexible to your needs; whether you’d like to enjoy a fine dining meal for two, or a casual drink with colleagues. The modern and ambient décor perfectly resembles the restaurant’s tranquil vibes.
The menu is abundant with choices – whether you’re after a tapas style meal, bar snacks or a substantial feed. Featuring everything from charcuterie, salads, burgers, pasta, steak to even dessert. Highlights of the menu include their lightly cured kingfish sashimi, served with an avocado mousse, celery, capers, radish and a gin dressing.
If you’re thinking of heading to Freddie’s for a light lunch, tuck into their broad bean and falafel salad, served with greens, barley, pickled beet, sesame yoghurt and a beetroot hummus.
In the midst of Spring ensure to try their Spring Lamb, served with a baba ghanoush, pickled onions and chargrilled greens.
Postpone your cheat day as their dessert menu is certainly not one to miss. Freddie’s dark chocolate torte caprese with a melted couverture, pouring cream, cocoa nibs and roasted almonds is absolutely heavenly.
Whilst craft beer is their specialty, with a huge 14 beers on tap, Freddie’s has a wide selection of wine, spirits and cocktails too. Such as the Bees, which is a white rum espresso martini with a honey and macadamia twist – this cocktail is definitely a must do.
