Margo Restaurant And Bar
Paddington
MARGO RESTAURANT & BAR HAS CLOSED AS OF MAY 2018.
Margo Restaurant and Bar is bringing a European twist to Paddington’s food precinct on Given Terrace.
The French inspired décor is filled with red leather booth seating, dining tables and alfresco seating out the front. There are grand mirrors adorning the walls and a large marble bar filled with bottles of premium liquor.
The creative menu is filled with dishes made from fresh Queensland produce, with a focus on local seafood. Choose from an array of entrees, mains, sides, desserts and also cheeses. All tables receive a basket of freshly baked baguette bread served with smoked butter and a pinch pot of Himalayan salt.
For entrée, the duo of scallops is certainly recommended. Served with curry, asparagus, corn and basil oil – the scallops are a delicious burst of flavour.
Feel like a snack with your wine? Try the Margo Charcuterie and homemade pickles board for a taste of their delectable chicken pate and cured meats.
They’re all about the seafood at Margo, with their popular dish being the Moreton Bay Bug served with piperade and chorizo. This dish certainly has the Chef getting creative, presented very artistically.
For something a little adventurous try their seasonal market fish, which changes regularly. When we visited the fish was Kingfish, served with a few scallops and fried Moreton Bay Bug.
If you can fit in dessert (let’s face it it’s a separate stomach, right?) don’t go past their rosemary crème brulèe, served with orange and almond biscotti. If you’re after something savoury, order one of their three cheeses (or just go for all three!), served with a crisp cracker and a handful of nuts.
For drinks, there is an extensive wine menu, beers on tap, spirits and cocktails.
Need to know – Limited street parking is available.
