Zankiki Wood-fired Pizza

Zankiki Wood-fired Pizza brings a delectable taste of Italy to a quiet little Moorooka retail strip, from the owners of popular nearby café Todd and Pup.

The casual family friendly eatery offers under cover al fresco dining on the terrace it shares with an Indian and Thai restaurant or patrons can take away.

On the menu are a choice of traditional rustic Italian pizzas and a handful of western classics such as BBQ Meatlovers, Hawaiian, BBQ Chicken and Vegetarian.

Italian favourites are divided into Rosse (tomato-based) and Bianche (white.cheese based), with the former including Margherita, Crudo (jamon serrano, pecorino, rocket, mozzarella and olive oil), Marinara and Capricciosa, while Bianche choices include Gorgonzola, Fungi, Quattro Formaggi (4 cheeses with truffle hone, candied walnuts and rocket) and Patate (potato, grana padana, hickory brined mozzarella, fresh rosemary and rosemary oil). Pizza eaters also have the option of add-ons such as Buffalo Mozzarella or doubling the sauce or meat.

As well as pizzas, Zankiki does a great range of house made pastas including Beef Lasagne, Blue Cheese and Chive Gnocchi, Vegetarian Fettuccine, Spaghetti Bolognese and the highly recommended Pesto Chicken (fettuccine, marinated chicken, caramelized onion, confit garlic, sundried tomato, pesto, grana padana, fresh basil and basil oil).

There’s also a selection of Sides and Salads such as Caprese or Gorgonzola Pear Salad, Wood fired garlic bread, Arancini Balls and Stuffed & Crumbed Italian Meatballs.

As well as the delectable savoury pizzas, Desserts are a star here – as well as Apple Crumble Calzone, must try is the Rocky Road Pizza (chocolate ganache, peanut brittle, marshmallow, toasted coconut and Turkish delight). And that’s not all. Zankiki also offers a range of gelati in flavours such as mango or lemon sorbet, caramel fudge, choc-mint, salted caramel, bubble gum and chocolate.

Need to know – Zankiki has high chairs for tots, room for prams and a child-friendly menu that includes pint-sized Cheese or Ham & Cheese Pizza or Bolognaise. There’s handy off-street parking out back or on-street parking with driveway access for those on wheels.
