Ol’ School
South Brisbane
OL' SCHOOL HAS CLOSED IN AUGUST 2019, TO BE REPLACED BY THE TINSEL BAR.
Ol’ School is serving up bespoke fresh fish and hand cut chunky chips to South Brisbane locals.
The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Mirvac building, ideal for residents and South Brisbane commuters. With nautical hues and minimalist décor, the restaurant is modern, decked out with table dining on one wall and takeaway/ bar space at the front of the building.
The menu naturally features a few fish and chip classics, with a rotating selection of fresh fish. Ol’ School have employed a chip taster to ensure their chips are in tip top order, making their chips their prized menu item. You won’t regret ordering a cone of chips or a side of the hand-cut delights to accompany your fish.
Ol’ School doesn’t just serve fish and chips though – they also serve other delectable fresh seafood such as oysters. Start your meal with a few freshly shucked oysters, served with a mignonette.
Another unique dish Ol’ School has created is their coconut, kaffir lime and chilli kingfish which is served on a prawn cracker.
Taking seafood to a whole new level, Ol’ School is also creating calamari burgers. A surprisingly tasty dish, the burger is on a ciabatta roll with lemon, aioli and zucchini pickle.
Need to know – Limited street parking is available nearby. Takeaway is available.
Nice to know – Owners of Ol’ School are also the masterminds behind nearby Vietnamese laneway eatery Hello Please.
