BANTER BAR & SEAFOOD HAS CLOSED AND BEEN REPLACED BY ONE FISH TWO FISH.

Banter Bar & Seafood in Kangaroo Point is certainly aptly named, as diners are flocking to the eatery for the delicious seafood, yet staying for the beers and banter.

Opposite it’s big sister – The Pineapple Hotel, Banter is located in a typical 1920s Queensland cottage. The expansive interior utilises all the rooms of the building, complete with a back deck which is nestled amongst the lush Poinciana trees. The bar is at the front of the house, with plenty of tall bar seating as well as low dining tables fit for groups and couples.

Whilst seafood is the focus, the menu is quite large featuring a range of dishes – from your regular fish and chips to prawn cocktails and even burgers. Banter creates a killer salt and pepper squid for entrée, which we think is a must.

Sink your teeth into a piece of your favourite fish, such as their Tassie Atlantic salmon. Grilled and with a delightful crispy skin, this fish is served with a Greek salad and a handful of chips.

Seafood not your thing? Never fear, there is a lot of meat dishes available too, including Aussie’s favourite, schnity and even rib fillet. But don’t look past their burgers either, their beef brisket burger is one to impress, topped with their special Banter sauce.

For beverages, there is plenty on the menu with a range of craft beers (national and international), wine (by the glass, bottle or even half bottle), cider and some delightful cocktails. What took our fancy was their glass of Ink gin, served with famous Fevertree tonic. 

Need to know – limited parking is available. Takeaway is available.

Nice to know – gluten free options are available.  There is a kid’s menu for the little nippers.
