Finders Keepers Bar
Burleigh Heads
FINDERS KEEPERS BAR HAS CLOSED AND BEEN REPLACED BY RAGDOLL BAR & DINING IN 2018.
Finders Keepers Bar is Burleigh’s Nana chic 1930s style cocktail and dining lounge, found sequestered behind the frosted coloured glass windows on James St.
Chesterfield couches, candlelit tables, VJs, chair rails, a grandfather clock and stunning floral wallpaper set the scene along with a wood-panelled bar that features a topsy turvy bookshelf ceiling.
Not only is Finders Keepers a go-to for sensational cocktails – think Spiced Strudel, Kaffir Lime Margarita, Pineapple Brandy Sour or Apple and Cinnamon Muffin, Plum and Blackberry Julep and Candy Apple Martini, it’s also a foodie destination, thanks to the Japanese/French chef (ex-Sake, Sydney) – who brings an interesting Japanese-western fusion to the menu - and owner/chef Chris.
Dishes, designed to share, are prepared from carefully sourced produce, locally if available or otherwise the top regional produce from elsewhere in Australia.
Expect to find creative offerings like melt-in-the-mouth twice cooked Scotsdale Pork Belly with quail egg and yuzu citrus mustard, must-try Tasmanian Ocean Trout en Papillote (oven-baked in a paper parcel with mixed seasonal mushrooms) or the highly recommended Grilled Moroccan lamb backstrap with tea-infused black currant cous cous and lemon yoghurt.
For something lighter it’s hard to go past the Porcini Arancini (crumbed porcini risotto filled with semi-fried tomato and spiced tomato coulis) or the popular Five Spice Duck Spring Rolls.
On the sweet side there’s Chocolate Fondant, Cheesecake or the house Tiramisu.
Nice to know: Those not partaking in anything alcoholic should try the old-fashioned house spiced lemonade served in a retro jar.
