Lucky Cat Café is a secret cat haven tucked away in an Annerley cul-de-sac, with a funky pet-friendly ground floor café and an upstairs cat lounge that is home to Lucky Cat’s resident cats.
Visitors to Lucky Cat Café, which is the very first cat café to open on Brisbane’s southside, can book an hourly session to hang out and play with the cats in the upstairs attic lounge and/or pop in for a coffee, tea, cold drink or snack downstairs. Note that while owner's own cats are welcome in the cafe, the upstairs cat lounge is strictly for the in-house cats only.
Here in the spacious café, which also has an onsite shop, both cats and dogs (on leash) are welcome to come inside with their owners and hang out.
While Lucky Cat Café does not have a food licence, they make a good cup of Dancing Bean coffee as well as offering tea, Matcha Latte, and cold drinks such as Emma and Tom’s smoothies, Arizona Ice Tea, Kimura (Japanese apple soda) and Coconut Water.
To accompany there’s light pre-packaged snacks including cookies, chocolate bars and packets of chips and dining tables come equipped with colouring pencils and pens and doodle books.
Cat lovers won’t want to miss a session upstairs though in the roomy light-filled attic where the in-house cats live. Here there are couches to hang out, mats, cat toys and climbing apparatuses for cat play. Sessions can be booked here online by the hour but note that children must be over 8 years old.
While the cats here are not up for adoption, they are rescue cats that have been personally selected from Brisbane Cat Valley Rescue for their social qualities and are full-time residents of Lucky Cat Café. Those interested in adopting can be put in touch with Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue who have plenty of cats n their care that are in need of a good home.
Nice to know - Lucky Cat Café is also a great place to pick up some quirky cat paraphernalia or gifts for the cat-lover, with cat-themed jewellery, watches, notebooks, coasters, mugs, greeting cards, Crazy Cat lady figurines, card games, T-shirts and more.
Need to know – Bookings are highly recommended and can be made online. There is limited free off-street parking and entry to St Kilda Place is only possible from Ipswich Rd outbound lanes. Keep up to date with events & happenings at the Lucky Cat Cafe Facebook page. NOTE THAT IF YOU BRING YOUR OWN CAT TO THE DOWNSTAIRS CAFE THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED UPSTAIRS WITH THE IN-HOUSE CATS.
