Pourboy Espresso

Cbd

In a relative wasteland of decent eateries Pourboy not only stands out for its coffee and food but is well worth walking an extra couple of blocks for.

Here coffee is an art, with one of the owners also the barista and beyond the normal espresso brew there’s a choice of pour-over, aeropress and cold drip.

Delicious beverages don’t end there, with organic loose leaf tea, chai included, fruit lassis and house made Tahitian lime and lemon cordial.

The food menu is simple but of a quality bordering on restaurant, thanks to the other owner’s chef status. Using ingredients that are fresh and seasonal, he whips up breakfasts such as wood-roasted salmon or Jamon Serrano with poached egg, mushroom duxelles or brioche toast while for lunch he draws on classics from around the world – the Reuben sandwich, Croque Monsieur, Ploughman’s sandwich or qunioa kebab.

Meantime those looking for a mid morning bite can count on trays of divine freshly baked goodies straight out of the oven such as the best lemon poppy seed cake in town.
