Feedback Cafe
Newstead
FEEDBACK CAFE HAS CHANGED ITS OPENING HOURS AND IS NOW OPEN FOR LUNCH AND DINNER ONLY FROM WED-SUN 12-LATE
Feedback Café at iconic music venue The Triffid is not just Newstead’s coolest breakfast spot, but one of the few places in the inner city to find superb nosh without the price tag.
Here punters can pull up a seat under the retro music posters in the old war igloo foyer, foregoing the formalities of china plates and silver cutlery and tuck into boxes of scrumptious creations for around the $10 mark.
On the menu is Fruit Toast with jam and butter, the best Banana Bread in town topped with a whirl of marscapone and organic honey and a generous serve of Smashed Avocado on sour dough with truss tomato, malted pugliese with the add-on option of crispy bacon.
Or try the Short Flat Rib Bread topped with soft fried egg, braised beef, corn and cucumber salsa and tomato chutney, the Morning Bagel filled with bacon, tomato, avo, fried egg and tomato chutney or the delicious Mushroom Box of Swiss brown and wild mushrooms, tomato and bean salsa, horseradish yoghurt and salsa verde.
And no visit to Feedback Café should be attempted without trying the Banana Doughnuts with sweet yoghurt and chocolate. ’Nuff said.
Need to know – Come lunchtime the action moves next door into the covered beer garden, the container bar opens for business and the menu morphs into serious day and night mode – think Triffid Dogs, Queensland Lobster Rolls, Triffid Burgers and Fish Tacos.
