MONK & GRIND IN FORTITUDE VALLEY HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Housed in an historic building (once home to Billy Hyde Music) in the Valley, a friendly team of baristas serve a steady stream of customers at Monk & Grind.  

Located in the lobby of Plumridge House – warehouses converted into contemporary, state-of-the art offices – this resident cafe retains some of the buildings previous charm with original, character features contrasted against glossy, grey tiles and modern furnishings; while a black and white mural of a former Fortitude Valley overlooks the cafe.  

Well-brewed Di Bella coffee is on pour and goes well with the all-day breakfast menu: fruit loaf with vanilla butter, Bircher muesli served with Greek yoghurt and toasted almonds and house-made beans with chorizo, fried egg and toasted sourdough.

Lunch  includes lamb burgers with beetroot relish, baby spinach and minted yoghurt, pulled pork ciabatta rolls with smoky barbecue sauce and slaw or rare beef salad with wild mushrooms, asparagus, balsamic vinegar and truffle oil.

For those on the run, a display case is stocked with salads (Caprese pasta, quinoa and sweet potato or pear and walnut with feta) and sandwiches (turkey, cranberry and brie, roast veggies with pesto and cheese or The Reuben) - ready to be served and taken back to the office.

Or stay awhile and take advantage of Monk & Grind's business lounge - equipped with comfy armchairs and free WiFi.
