Battery Station Cafe
Fortitude Valley
BATTERY STATION CAFE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Battery Station Cafe, located in an old service station on Wickham Street, is the latest cafe to open in the Valley – serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.
Retaining its heritage listed charm with exposed brickwork and leadlight windows, patrons can sit indoors by the bar with bench seating and colourful cushions lining the wall or in the courtyard out back with amazing murals by Brisbane's Sofles and Drapl.
The breakfast menu includes benedict bagels and bacon and egg wraps alongside brioche french toast with banana, hazelnut and crème fraiche, green apple bircher with almonds, yoghurt and honey and savoury mince with roasted tomato, poached egg, mustard leaf, chilli jam and toast.
Lunch, served until 2:30, ranges from standard fare such as steak sandwiches and BLT's to smoked salmon on sourdough with green apple slaw and chorizo, feta and rocket on ciabatta; while lighter lunch options include achiote fish tacos with lettuce, avocado, cucumber, coriander and chipotle mayo and salads like mango, coconut and macadamia with strawberry vinaigrette.
A tapas menu of moroccan popcorn, house olives and petite pizzas rounds out the foodstuff. Meanwhile, beverages include well-brewed coffee by Fifth Battery, Little Creatures craft beer on tap and a selection of ciders and wines, with a cocktail list in the making.
