THE DRUGSTORE CAFE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Kangaroo Point's best kept secret is The Drugstore Cafe, which inhabits a shipping container in the backyard of a Cairns St cottage.
Head past the gate, up the driveway and you'll find a fabulous, quirky cafe with graffitied fence and herb garden on one side of the small yard and vertical garden planter on the other; while recycled timber tables fill the cosy astro-turfed space.
Breakfast faves include banand bread with mascarpone, bacon and egg rolls with garlic aioli and relish, smashed avocado and feta on crusty sourdough and home made muesli with Greek yoghurt and fresh berries. Or try a tasty toastie with salad for lunch.
Otherwise, customers can enjoy homebaked carrot, cranberry and walnut cake, apple and ginger cake or chilli muffins with well-brewed Genovese coffee.
Besides coffee, drinks include mango, mixed berry and peanut butter and banana smoothies, fresh juices and milkshakes - chocolate, vanilla, caramel or maple and coffee.
