This split-level Cafeine Cafe in Coorparoo has long been a source of fantastic food and coffee for locals.

At lunch times and early mornings queues form for the artfully brewed di Bella coffee (try the affogato) while the all-day breakfast is arguably the best to be had in the area.

Simple dishes like roasted tomato, fetta and herbs with baked Turkish or the mushroom sandwich (with scrambled eggs and pesto) are beautifully presented with a taste to match while the big breakfast, with eggs served in a ramekin, is a work of art.

Food aside, it should be noted that there is no table service and much of the seating involves stools at pine benches in an effort to make the most of the odd-shaped interior so it’s not a settle-in-with-the-papers kind of place.
