Tucked away down on the cusp of Teneriffe and New Farm is this slick little restaurant, dishing up excellent Japanese cuisine, a fusion of contemporary and traditional.
With a comprehensive agemono (fried) menu and a modest range of super fresh sashimi/sushi as well as a mini range of salads such as crab and soba it also offers a couple of delicious bento boxes as part of 3 courses.
Whilst all the dishes are beautifully executed perhaps the highlight of the menu is the black cod saikyo yaki.
There is a kids menu for the ten and under, for example chicken teriyaki or fish tempura with rice and salad and ice-cream for $12.
Mizu is also open from 8am-11am on weekends for a traditional Japanese breakfast – with amongst the choices a bento box, packed with dainty morsels of karaage chicken, rice, vegetables and pickles, or okonomiyaki - delicious shallot and crab infused savoury pancakes, accompanied by a green tea latte.
