X-Cargo

Fortitude Valley

X-Cargo social hub is a mega open air playground for grown-ups in Fortitude Valley – a fantasy shipping container ‘village’ covering 2 blocks on McLachlan St.

By night it resembles a giant multi-level beer garden with lit-up trees, towering walls with striking street art, all manner of nooks and crannies with patio furniture and rooftop bar areas (some with booths) connected by bridges.

X-Cargo Fortitude Valley

The vibe at X-Cargo is like walking into someone’s Brisbane backyard party with one area overlooked by an old Queenslander cottage with verandah and the whole downstairs area covered in astroturf. Various zones are inspired by the glamour of 1960’s Americana with names like The Flamingo Lounge and The Sky Deck.

X-Cargo Fortitude Valley

Three main shipping container bars are located throughout and here you can get drinks (including X-Cargo’s own beers – High Tide and Low Tide – and cocktails on tap) and bar food made from Queensland produce with a Miami flavour.

X-Cargo Fortitude Valley

Nice to know - X-Cargo will also be opening mornings for coffee and pastries. Queues for food and drink can be pretty long so be sure to bring some patience.

X-Cargo Fortitude Valley

At the time of visiting in July 2018, X-Cargo is open for casual bites and drinks from midday onwards.
