ALQUIMIA TEQUILA BAR HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2017.
Alquimia (Spanish for alchemy) is a tiny tequila bar in Fortitude Valley, creating magical elixirs, also known as cocktails, using top-shelf tequilas.
Setting the mood with latin music and candle light, Alquimia is ambient with subtle sand coloured walls. Little cacti adorn tables, a cosy nook overlooks Ann Street and a comfy sofa sits in the rear.
Pull up a stool at the blue bar and watch the barkeep craft a delicious concoction.
While the cocktail list is continually changing, there is something to suit everyone’s palate including sweet – like Aztec Passion with passionfruit, mango nectar and brown sugar - and sour – such as Three Kings with infused orange tequila, caramelised grapefruit, lime and agave.
And classic margaritas with a twist. Try a watermelon margarita made with 100% blue agave tequila, fresh watermelon, maraschino and lime.
Besides tequila, Alquimia has beer on tap and by the bottle, as well as a small curated wine list.
