This tiny subterranean Euro style bar is an offshoot of the fabled E'cco Bistro above and as such makes for a refined spot for a civilized drink and a casual bar meal that is as good as it gets.
Décor is minimalist and given warmth by the rich red brick walls of the historical building it inhabits and features such as the wine glass cabinet inlaid under the keystone.
The extensive wine list is one of the best around, with an extensive array of well-chosen blends and varietals - both old world and new world - from France, Italy, Germany, the US, NZ and Australia, ranging all the way up to top shelf. Also on the bar menu are a top shelf range of single malt and aged whiskies, a mix of imported and boutique beers and a handful of cocktails.
On the compact food menu are delectable appetizers such as sour dough toast with Serrano ham and quince paste and salt and pepper squid with chilli caramel while meals include minute steak, grilled salmon or cuck confit.
And there's no need to go elsewhere for dessert, with cheese platter or rhubarb pear and port crumble on the list.
