Family-friendly and dog-friendly, kids have their own play area with mini chalkboard, books and games, while four-legged members of the family are welcome to join patrons on the wrap-around veranda. Otherwise, there is plenty of seating inside the spacious, airy café.
The concise menu is well-thought out with a focus on fresh, locally sourced, seasonal produce. All-day breakfast fare ranges from avo on rye with thyme and lemon myrtle curds and toasted buckwheat, to potato and leek hashcakes with crisp Bangalow pancetta and poached egg, and gingerbread pancakes with whey butterscotch sauce, bunya nut crumble and cream.
Additional menu items, available from 10:30am, include slow cooked garlic mushrooms with truffle cream and crispy polenta, fish tacos with pickled cabbage, mango, lime and coriander salsa and reuben sangas – pulled corn beer, Russian dressing and sauerkraut.
A menu for kids consists of mini coconut granola bowls with berries, Barambah yoghurt and honey, gingerbread pancakes with honey and cream and crispy chicken flatbread.
Besides coffee, there’s Mayde organic loose-leaf teas, Hrvst St cold pressed juices, hibiscus lemon myrtle iced tea, ginger ninja kombucha, and milkshakes.
