In this stunning Opera Australia production of The Magic Flute Mozart's fairy tale opera has been put under an enchanting spell by The Lion King director Julie Taymor so that even children will be compelled to stay awake.
Enter a fantastical world where princes battle dragons, animals dance, children fly and music saves the day, all played out by a youthful cast. Led by Andrew Brumsden as noble prince Tamino and with Queen of the Night played by Brisbane soprano Milica Ilic, the cast romp through a spectacular set as hero Tamino crosses strange lands inhabited by even stranger creatures – scary women, wise children and a bird man – on his quest for truth and love.
