What comes first – the circus or the egg? The answer will be revealed in Cirque de Soleil's latest and greatest show OVO, a bug infested extravaganza set in an ecosystem that David Attenborough could only have dreamed of.
It all starts (or does it?) when a strange egg appears mysteriously in the midst of an insect community as they go about their daily business – working, playing, fighting, eating and looking for love. Following on from there is another arrival – that of a gawky insect who becomes besotted with a beautiful lady bug – and so the cycle of life goes on.
Fifty five performers from 14 countries pull out all the stops and use every trick in the circus book - including banquine, swinging chair and Russian swing and peaking with the jaw-dropping Flying Act (when a bunch of scarabs fly high over the stage) – ensuring OVO lives up to the old circus adage – the greatest show on Earth.
