Life is a cabaret in Brisbane over almost three fabulous weeks as the Brisbane Cabaret Festival lights up iconic venues around town.
Headlining the comedy acts are The Kransky Sisters (sold out), Women in Voice, madcap trio Tripod, Courtney Act, Dusty Limits on a stopover from London and comediennes Jenny Wynter and Megan Shorey who will be flashing her Undies.
Providing good old-fashioned showbiz and classic cabaret are Paris showgirl Shay Stafford, Russell Fletcher's Jest Like Danny Kaye and Marnie McQueen. Then pop, dive and retro are on hand with Cienda McNamara, Adele channeller Naomi Price and Almaryse and The Frill of the Fight with sidekick Les Actes Terrible. And on the fringe front burlesque makes a stunning appearance in Red Roses and Babushka Cabaret.
Musically, this year's festival spans everything from French poetry and chanson, show tunes and jazz cabaret to contemporary singer songwriters, and spiced up with a standout mix of comedy and music by L'il Fi and Mandy Nolan.
Catch all these and more at the Judith Wright Centre, the Old Museum, Tribal Theatre, Stockholm Syndrome, The Manhattan Club, The Hideaway, The Pink Piano, Stagedoor, SYC Studios and Emporium.
