King Street Bakery

Bowen Hills

King Street Bakery in Bowen Hills is your one-stop-shop for delicious French pastries, croissants and gateaux, served along with top-notch fare for breakfast and lunch.

Formerly Montrachet Boulangerie, the French bakery has changed monikers and relocated a few doors down on King Street (to make room for additional dining at Montrachet Restaurant).

Customers can dine inside the rustic space featuring exposed bricks or al fresco on the footpath.

In addition to freshly-baked French treats – from almond croissants and raspberry beignets to lemon meringue tarts and chocolate eclairs – the bakery provides an al a carte breakfast and lunch menu.

Breakfast, served from 7am until 2:30pm, ranges from classic bacon and eggs on toasted sourdough and eggs benedict to the sinfully sweet granny smith apple and caramel baked brioche with sauce anglaise and fresh cream, and oeuf cocotte facon pays-basque - free range eggs baked in dish with piperade, chorizo and crème fraiche.

Lunch options include cauliflower and speck soup served with warm baguette, portobello mushrooms with buckwheat and scallions in dashi broth, miso glazed roasted pumpkin, quinoa and Danish feta roasted almond salad, and beer battered fresh local whiting fillets served with French fries.

Vittoria Coffee is on pour. Otherwise, the bakery is licensed with beer on offer plus a concise wine list including Australian and French wines.
