Wil Anderson brisbane city hall

After the huge success of last year’s Fire at Wil, funnyman Wil Anderson brings his new show, Critically Wil, to Brisbane City Hall as part of the Brisbane Comedy Festival.

Of course, Anderson needs no introduction to Aussie audiences, with his grinning face and quick witticisms gracing TV screens in ABC’s Gruen for years. He’s also had his popular L.A. podcasts, TOFOP and Wilosophy, and more recently an AFL podcast with Charlie Clausen called 2 Guys 1 Cup. His comedic skills have won him fans and acclaim around the world, with an unbeaten five wins of the People’s Choice Award at the Melbourne Comedy festival.

Anderson’s brand of comedy is high energy and unpredictable, and it’s always guaranteed to elicit plenty of laughs and maybe even a few guffaws. With an amazing output of a new show in Brisbane each year since 2003, he’s always got opinions about what’s going on in the world.

After spending several months in the U.S., gigging from Alaska to L.A., Australia is once again hosting Anderson’s considerable stand-up talents, with The Herald Sun saying of a recent performance, “cunningly written comedy that illuminates current political and social issues with his inimitable wit and intelligence” - ****1/2.
