The Sleeping Beauty

Playhouse Qpac

Join the Ballet Theatre of Queensland, Queensland’s premier youth ballet, for another year of ballet magic, when they perform The Sleeping Beauty at QPAC from January 16 to 19, 2019.

Based on Charles Perrault’s classic fairy tale, The Sleeping Beauty comes to life on stage with this beautiful ballet, showcasing the talents of some of Queensland’s finest young dancers.

On her 16th birthday, Princess Aurora pricks her finger on the thorn of a rose and falls under an evil spell cast by the wicked fairy Carabosse. After 100 years of slumber, Aurora is finally awoken by a tender kiss from a handsome prince.

Set to the stirring music of Tchaikovsky and choreographed by Timothy Brown, with stunning sets and gorgeous costumes, this production of The Sleeping Beauty is a must-see that will appeal to ballet lovers of all ages.
