Our Place Coffee Garden Victoria Point

OUR PLACE COFFEE GARDEN HAS CLOSED IN 2017 AND LOOKING FOR A NEW VENUE.

Our Place Coffee Garden is a unique piece of doggie (and kids) paradise found in the bayside suburb of Victoria Point.

A quaint white weatherboard cottage with a couple of outbuildings, surrounded by interconnected courtyards and gardens makes up the colourful boho micro-village that is Our Place Coffee Garden and the piece de resistance is a special offleash garden for dogs out back, where they can indulge in puppycinos and themed doggy biscuits while their owners enjoy a coffee, tea, vegan treat or self-serve refreshment.

A kind of unofficial community hub and home-away-from-home for Victoria Point locals, Our Place comprises a handful of small businesses* who share the space with the ‘café’ with its wraparound shady deck where dogs on leash are welcome and a play garden out front with giant blackboard, pedal cars, rowing boat full of toys and a marquee cabana lounge perfect for mums with young bubs to gather.

Follow the giant paw prints our back between the nail salon and ‘café’, through to the Offleash Coffee Garden which is unlike anything you’ll see anywhere in Brisbane.

Here you’ll find tables and chairs under shady trees, a trickling water feature of doggie bowls, a marquee with wicker couch containing doggie beds, and a bunch of toys and balls for dogs to play with.

And that’s not all – through the back gate is a council offleash dog park including an agility section. And want more? From here there’s also a great dog walk (onleash) that leads from through casuarina forests and over bridges to the sea.

But back to the ‘café’. Due to its super dog-friendly inclusiveness and associated council restrictions, Our Place does not prepare any food onsite, however there is a ‘toast’ station and pie-warmer, where, for a gold coin donation, patrons can make their own toast or heat up a gourmet pie, sausage roll, quiche or toastie in the pie-warmer.

Behind the counter are a number of sweet treats such as mini-cupcakes for children, vegan raw slices, packets of sandwiches, And, subject to availability, a range of pre-prepared Vegan Light Meals (from local business Nourish and Nurture) including Rice Paper Rolls, Carrot Ball Salad, Chilli Stir Fry, Lasagne and Chia Cups are on offer.

Food aside, a big drawcard at Our Place Coffee Garden is the outstanding coffee, made from locally handcrafted Delamauta Coffee Beans and a must try is the house special Crème Brulatte, which actually comes with a topping of crème brulee.
