Museum Zoo
Workshops Rail Museum
Kids will go wild at The Workshops Rail Museum when it is home to the fun-filled Museum Zoo this September school holidays.
From 16 September to 2 October, young visitors can enjoy a host of hands-on animal themed activities and check out the exhibition A Room for Wild Animals, at the Museum for a limited time.
The activities are inspired by the 20 taxidermy specimens in the A Room for Wild Animals exhibition that includes big cats and bears and is a fantastic way for young visitors to engage with the exhibit.
Museum Zoo is packed full of things for the whole family to see and do, including creating your very own animal in Animal Academy, the chance to colour and collage your favourite Australian animal at Creation Station, following the animal trail by locating and identifying animal tracks through the Museum and spotting the wild animals in the A Room for Wild Animals exhibition.
And that’s not all. Check out the new photographic exhibitions This is my Heritage and Great Barrier Reef, let off steam in the indoor playground Nippers Railway and explore 15 larger-than-life exhibits including beautifully restored carriages, steam trains and the largest model railway of Queensland
