Live & Local

Brisbane City Hall

Live & Local is that part of the Brisbane Comedy Festival where you get to see the best new things on the comedy circuit before they get HUGE.

All of the Live & Local acts hail from sunny Qld, so here’s the opportunity to supporting your own, over 6 nights at Brisbane City Hall.

From Fri Mar 16 to 18 there’ll be Zack Dyer (winner of the RAW Comedy National Grand Final 2017 in Melbourne),  Jasmine Fairbairn (a Canadian comedian with 12 years training at Loose Moose Theatre before making Brisbane her home), Jack Gramenz (who recently wowed Adelaide Fringe with his solo show), Ashwin Segkar (Indian-born Brisbanite who’s a stand up comedian and writer on Boymongoose, Creative Direction and kids' TV series, Underwater Mission) and Stephanie Tisdell ( an award-winning up-and-coming Aboriginal Comedian challenging cultural stereotypes while taking the piss).

From Mar 23-25 you can catch Rhi Down (a Brisbane-based comedian, described by many people as a ‘female’), Ben Knight (Brisbane-born comedian who has a fascinating story to tell as a former teacher, musician and traveller), Jacob Lingard (stand-up comedian and producer who in 2015 was selected to perform in the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s prestigious, “Comedy Zone”) Andy Thompson (comedian, engineer, writer and husky man-about-town who tells jokes for cash, manly hugs and free drinks) and Oliver Twist (Brisbane-based comedian who made it to the Raw Comedy National Final 2017).

Need to know - All performances are in the Brisbane Room at the Brisbane City Hall.
