Khot Thai is a fresh contemporary Thai eatery in Paddington that serves some of the most delicious authentic Thai food to be found in Brisbane.

The décor at Khot Thai is a refreshing departure to the usual purple, gold and wood scene, with comfy banquette seating all along one wall, an open kitchen, colourful wall scenes from Thai markets and hydroponic herb walls (with customers able to pick their own herbs and add to their liking).

Food served here, as per the Khot Thai Motto, is true Thai flavour, with dishes prepared individually from scratch, to order. The restaurant is also conscious of health and modern dietary requirements, with a range of of Gluten-free and Vegan dishes already on the menu and others that can be made Gluten-Free or Vegan on request.

Some 20 Entrée dishes are on offer, including faves like Curry Puffs, Coconut Prawns, Spring Rols, Thai Fish Cakes and Satay Chicken, along with O-Cha and Vegan O-Cha Rolls (Khot Thai’s unique rice paper rolls), Money Bags, Vegan Tofu Parcels and Steamed Duck Dumplings.

Soups include Tom Yum, Tom Kha and Thai Laksa while Salads include Larb, Yum Beef or Seafood and a Salmon Garden (grilled salmon steal with finely chopped veges and herbs in a tangy sance).

For Mains there’s a wide choice of traditional Thai Curries, Stir Fried Noodles (including Pad Mee, Mad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao as well as Pad Thai).

Otherwise there’s Grills such as Panang BBQ Chicken or Salmon and Gai Yang (grilled chicken breast filet with steamed veges and lemon grass) and look out for the Chef’s Specials such as Bangkok Barramundi or Dick, Crispy Pork and Vegetables, Tropical Curry and the recommended Perfect (choice of meat, tofu or seafood with coconut, shallots, onion, potato and sweet potato in a unique sweet and tangy sauce).

In addition, as well as Fried or Steamed Jasmine Rice there’s also a choice of Brown Jasmine Rice, Coconut Rice and wholemeal Roti.

Need to know – Takeaway, Family Packs and (dine in) Banquets are also available. Great value Lunch specials are served during the week, with dishes coming in slightly smaller serves than dinner and the option of add-on entrees and soft drink.
