Hampton Festival is a highlight of any foodie and art lover’s calendar – a dazzling showcase of Southern Queensland country’s best produce, restaurants, wineries, providores and artists.
Held in Chapman Park in the picturesque country town of Hampton (just 32 km north of Toowoomba), the event features a 3-day program, starting with food and art workshops and masterclasses on Friday May 19th and Saturday May 20th.
This year’s major drawcard is celebrity chef and star of River Cottage Australia, Paul West, who will headline the festival on Sunday May 21st.
Along with cooking demonstrations by the renowned chef, Sunday’s program will feature live music, a fresh produce market, art exhibition and over 60 market stalls, food and wine exhibitors.
For those who want to make a long weekend of it, the 3-day program is as follows:
Friday May 19th – Historic Homes Progressive Dinner and Cheese Making Workshops (with Graham Redhead).
Saturday May 20th – Harvest, Cook & Dine with Paul West (Cooking School/Dinner), Cheese Making Workshops, Beer Masterclasses (by Matt Kirkegaard), Draw and Pour (Sketching and Wine Appreciation), Hampton Art Exhibition Opening & Preview (Chapman Park – 2.30pm-5.30pm.) – Free entry.
Sunday May 21st – Hampton Festival at Chapman Park - A family friendly day of markets, food & wine, Paul West Cooking Demos, live music, hampton Art Exhibition, Artists in Residence at work and free 'Kids in the Kitchen' activities. (9.30am-4pm) Adults $10, Children Under 12 yrs Free
Need to know - Bookings for Workshops, Masterclasses, Dinner, Sketching and Wine Appreciation are essential.
Nice to know - Activities including canoeing, rock climbing & high ropes for children between the ages of 8-16 will be run by the experienced staff at Reflections-Lake Cooby during the ‘Draw & Pour’ and beer tasting workshops. Call 07 4696 6244 .
