The retreats are open plan in design and have been tastefully furnished with king sized beds, beautiful artwork, fireplaces and stylish decor. Large banks of glass doors and louvered windows allow both light and passing breezes to flow through the interior and ensure that the stunning view of the valley below is never out of sight. Inviting outdoor chairs are the perfect spot to sip a local wine and watch nature work her magic as the sun goes down at the end of the day.

Each retreat has a BBQ, so rustling up breakfast is nice and easy. Clovely Estate Wines, platters and evening meals can be pre-ordered at the time of booking. The BBQ banquet is very popular and full of delicious local produce - further info can be found on the website.

This 60 acre property has much to offer guests. Tour guide, Sheba (an adorable black Labrador) will happily escort guests on a walk around the property. A variety of gum trees, including a very old and grand spotted gum, fruit trees, pepper trees and more dot the landscape. Take the track down to the pepper trees where a picnic table and chairs invite visitors to enjoy lunch or a quiet moment amongst the stillness that makes Deshons Retreat so special.

Keen bird watchers are kept busy here with a wide variety of birdlife to be spotted including black breasted button quails, friar birds, whip birds, galahs, cockatoos, kookaburras, kingfishers, superb fairy wrens, double-barred finches, regent bower birds, pheasants, drongos and more. Wildlife abounds with swamp wallabies, pretty face wallabies, red neck wallabies, rabbits, hares, goannas, lizards and the occasional snake being spotted. At the end of the day, guests can luxuriate in a deep bath, scented with Jayne's hand crafted, essential oil inspired toiletries.

The changing seasons at Deshons provide unique experiences for guests. Spring and summer see the countryside come to life with the colourful hues of native flowers and clear blue skies, whilst autumn sees trees like liquid ambers and Chinese tallows undergo a transformation as their leaves change colour with the new season.

And of course, the cooler months of autumn and winter are perfect for getting cosy in front of a toasty fire. With no street lights to hinder the view of the night sky, star gazing here is a real treat. Whether it's for a romantic weekend, an escape to the country or simply a chance to relax and rejuvenate, Deshons Retreat ticks all the boxes and then some.

Five Must Do things to see and do - Wooroolin Wetlands, Kingsley Grove Estate (known for their "wine ice cream" and pizza), Taste South Burnett, The Peanut Van and the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre and Art Gallery (opposite the iconic peanut silos).

Need to know - There is no mobile phone coverage and no TV reception due to the property's location. Free WIFI is available. Each retreat has an LCD LED television and a range of movies is provided on USB sticks for guests' use. This retreat is dog friendly.
