Christmas Lights are back on at Government House in a spectacular must see display that is open to the public over ten evenings in December.
More than 1750m of lights and over 12000 bulbs will illuminate the landmark historic house and gardens this year.
Last year’s display attracted thousands of patrons through the gates of Brisbane’s majestic landmark building to see it lit up at its festive best and this year is set to be bigger and better.
Due to its overwhelming popularity, the number of nights Government House is hosting the Christmas Lights has doubled this year from 5 nights to 10.
Fernberg, the official residence of the Governor of Queensland since 1910, is over 150 years old and its popularity continues to rise, with some 18000 visitors over the past year, including Open Days and guided school and tour groups.
Need to know – Entrance (pedestrians only) is via the Service Gate at 168 Fernberg Rd and there is no onsite parking.
