CANNON HILL FARMERS MARKET CLOSED PERMANENTLY IN 2015
From farm gate to plate is the ethos of the new Brisbane Farmers Market, setting up every Sunday from 6am to 1pm, at Cannon Hill’s master-planned community on the corner of Creek and Wynnum Roads.
This authentic farmers market, the brainchild of Noosa Farmers Market founder Shane Stanley, is a foodie’s delight with more than 85 stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, organic olives, medicinal honey, artisan breads, pastries, popcorn, peanuts and pasta.
All growers and producers are local - from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa in the north to northern New South Wales and Stanthorpe in the south.
Begin the day with a cup of hot coffee (or cold pressed iced coffee) with several coffee vendors to choose from and breakfast of bacon and egg, brioche or bagel.
After picking up your weekly supplies, visit the market’s multicultural food stalls offering everything from wood-fired pizzas and falafels to calamari and gozleme.
Tables and chairs are scattered throughout the market while most seating is provided in shade beside the food court. Buskers provide live entertainment while a jumping castle keeps littlies amused.
Things to Note: Brisbane Farmers Market runs rain, hail or shine. An ATM is available on-site.
