Brisbane Comedy Festival returns with an all-star line-up of Australian and international comedians along with a bevy of Brisbane talent and emerging superstars, from February 22 to March 24, 2019.
Celebrating a decade of comedy, the jam-packed, four-week program will see 74 acts, including some of Australia’s favourite comedians and top international comics, converge across Brisbane at Brisbane Powerhouse, Brisbane City Hall and SunPAC.
Kicking off the Brisbane Comedy Festival on Friday, February 22 at City Hall is the Opening Gala, hosted by Charlie Pickering in his only festival performance. This night-of-nights will feature a spectacular line-up of comedians providing non-stop laughs and entertainment.
Internationally-renowned acts making the trip down under include UK’s Ross Noble, Scottish funnyman Danny Bhoy and two of Aussie’s funniest exports, Felicity Ward and Ronny Chieng.
National treasures returning to the comedy fest are Dave Hughes, Nazeem Hussain and Lawrence Mooney, as well as Brisbane’s own, homegrown comic Mel Buttle.
Complementing a strong roster of stand-up shows is a series of all-star acts including Frocking Hilarious (some of the funniest women in comedy), Lady Sings It Better and Shit-faced Shakespeare making its Brisbane debut with A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
A new addition to the Comedy Festival in 2019 is a family program featuring more PG-rated shows such as Around the Campfire improvised comedy, Whimpy Chimpy game show and Mr Snot Bottom’s Stinky Silly Show.
